To expand the plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) marketplace, the government of California set up a public-private partnership incentivizing businesses to commit to workplace charger installations, PEV fleet purchases or employee incentives for PEV ownership. This initiative was then replicated by the state of Vermont, with support from California.
