Green Autonomous Communities, Yucatán — Future Fund pilot project
Future Fund — Climate Group
The Green Autonomous Communities project in Yucatán, Mexico, was supported by the Future Fund in 2021.
The project supported the state government of Yucatán to develop a model for green autonomous communities — combining renewable energy, biodiversity conservation and community resilience — that could be replicated across rural communities in the state and the wider region.
This work formed part of the Future Fund's wider portfolio of climate action in Latin America, delivered with member governments of the Under2 Coalition.
About the Future Fund
The Future Fund is a unique Under2 Coalition project, developed not only for its governments but also by its governments. It facilitates climate action in developing and emerging economies by offering direct funding for capacity-building projects, knowledge sharing and access to global climate events in regional languages.
