Solutions Accelerator

Accelerating progress

Climate Group’s new workstream is bringing together the expertise of supply-side companies with international businesses interested in 24/7 carbon-free electricity (CFE) procurement – hourly matched, locally sourced.

We’ve been working with large-scale energy buyers, including Google, AstraZeneca, Iron Mountain and AirTrunk, during the pilot phase of the 24/7 Carbon-Free Coalition to develop new global standards and drive scalable solutions for businesses wanting to adopt 24/7 CFE.

Now we’re launching a new workstream – announcing ACT Group, ENGIE, Granular Energy and Suzlon as the first partners – to bring the expertise and ambition of forward-thinking suppliers and solution providers to support our corporate partners to accelerate their progress.

“Innovative partnerships are key to making 24/7 CFE a reality for everyone, and we’re excited to work with other climate leaders on this important challenge. Whether you’re already targeting 24/7 CFE or just getting started on your journey, together we can accelerate decarbonization in this critical decade for climate action.”

Ambition

Our Solutions Accelerator partners – ACT Group, ENGIE, Granular Energy, Suzlon – will support the work of our Coalition partners and wider corporates to build knowledge of how to develop their 24/7 CFE ambitions. Their collective knowledge will be essential as they work with Climate Group to shape game-changing new policy work – focusing on Europe and Asia during the first year of the programme.

Another key Solutions Accelerator role will be to input on the revisions to our Technical Criteria at 6-month intervals to support the work of our Technical Advisory Group.

The Solutions Accelerator will also bring together supply side with corporate buyers at quarterly workshops for networking and peer-to-peer learning on priority topics – from feasibility to affordability to implementation.
