The letter, written by Transport and Environment outlines that this target will increase the much needed supply for zero emission urban buses, reduce air pollution and make buses compatible with EU climate targets.
There is already high demand for zero emission buses, with around 20 major European cities including Barcelona and Berlin pledging to only buy zero emission buses by 2025.
