The Government of Maharashtra and Climate Group's EV100 initiative are jointly organising a virtual workshop on Accelerating electrification of deliveries in Maharashtra.
The Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Tourism and Protocol, Maharashtra, Aaditya Thackeray will be interacting with CXOs of prominent EV100 companies on business ambition and policy needed to drive faster adoption of electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries in the state.
A rapid transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs) is vital for decarbonising road transport in India. Maharashtra’s EV Policy 2021 has set a bold target of 10% new vehicle registrations by 2025 and 25% electrification of aggregator fleets by 2025. We aim to raise the bar for corporate ambition on EVs, as well as engage with the state on policy.
At this workshop, we will also hear from Maharashtra’s Transport Department on their plans for boosting EV transition, particularly on-demand support and incentives for companies operating fleets to advance their action in the last mile delivery space.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with stakeholders from the electric mobility industry to identify challenges in implementation and key policy and market levers for accelerating large-scale EV adoption in deliveries. Maharashtra and EV100 will constitute an action group to inform policy.
