Helen Clarkson, CEO of Climate Group, has been recognised in The Independent’s Climate 100 List 2026, which celebrates 100 of the world’s leading climate changemakers, innovators and advocates driving progress on climate action. The annual list highlights individuals from across business, government, science, civil society and culture who are helping to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis.
This recognition comes at a time when Climate Week NYC, hosted by Climate Group, has grown to be bigger than ever with well over 1500 events taking place across the week. It reflects Clarkson’s leadership in growing Climate Week NYC into one of the world’s most influential platforms for climate progress. Bringing businesses, governments and civil society together to cut pollution, expand clean energy and build a healthier, more resilient future.
Others featured on the list this year are a diverse group of figures, including actor and Climate Week NYC 2025 keynote Mark Ruffalo, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, Founder and UN Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall and former US vice president Al Gore. Celebrating their contributions to climate leadership and environmental action.
