Commenting on the UK Government's 'Green Day' announcements today, Helen Clarkson, Climate Group CEO, says:
"Businesses are chomping at the bit to invest in net zero and some of today’s announcements will be welcomed by companies eager to embrace electric vehicles and clean energy. But the big test is whether the UK is competitive with the rest of the world to secure jobs and economic growth. We’ll now need to wait until the autumn for that. And in a global race to secure investment and tackle climate change, that delay is a problem."
On the announcements around the UK Government's ZEV Mandate, Sandra Roling, Director of Transport, says:
"Businesses will welcome the clarity offered today around the ZEV Mandate. While more ambitious sales targets for zero emission vans and cars would make the regulation stronger and more effective, this is still a world-leading piece of legislation and an important step in phasing out dirty petrol and diesel cars on UK roads"
