March 25, 2021 – New York, NY – Climate Group, an international climate action non-profit and organizer of Climate Week NYC, announced today the details for the first US Climate Action Week. Taking place April 19-23, 2021, US Climate Action Week will serve as the official convener of side events, discussions, and other activations held during the week of the Leaders’ Summit on Climate hosted by the Biden Administration.

US Climate Action Week will bring together a range of critical events and oversee the submission, calendar, and promotion of the week. Senior White House and administration officials are expected to participate in several events throughout US Climate Action Week, in recognition of the significant contributions and actions of engaged citizens and climate leaders across the country.

Helen Clarkson, CEO of Climate Group, said: “President Biden has signaled his intent to lead from the front on climate ambition and action. His summit on April 22 will showcase international leadership and the US’s own ambitions for climate action and a green recovery. US Climate Action Week will provide an important platform for leaders from business, government, the climate sector, and the public to come together and show the exciting work that is happening already, and what more is needed to support the US’s new ambitions. We are excited to be able to use our experience as hosts of Climate Week NYC to act as the official convener of the week and look forward to creating a platform that can help turn commitments into realities.”

Gina McCarthy, White House National Climate Advisor, said: "Here at home, we have to do our part or we will not be able to make the kind of worldwide change that climate change demands. We’re going to power our economy with clean energy. We’re going to do that in a way that will produce millions of American jobs. And we’re going to make sure that nobody is left behind."

In addition, the Climate Group is hosting its own event, Biden 100 Days: Can the US take the lead in averting climate catastrophe, to support the Leader's Summit on Climate.
