What is the US Climate Action Summit?

Back for its third year, the US Climate Action Summit unites key leaders in business, politics and advocacy to drive US climate momentum during Earth Week.

We're hosting an intimate yet innovative program that favours participation, progress and accountability.

Our goal for the US Climate Action Summit is to create a participant-led platform that drives measurable outcomes on climate policy and business action, with attendees at the heart of the agenda.

What's the agenda format?

Our program is split into two core agendas.

Spotlight sessions

Three in-depth debates from a wide range of climate voices and perspectives on the biggest challenges facing US climate leadership. These sessions will be hosted in front of a live audience with a focus on participation and open questions. Each session will be available for you to tune in virtually, open to all. We'll be focusing on access and implementation, state-, business- and community-led leadership, and what's needed to maximize the benefits of the green economy.

Breakout sessions

A full agenda of in-person workshops, collaborative meetings, and open spaces held behind closed doors creating a safe and constructive space for knowledge-led outcomes. It will exclusively focus on pushing progress and implementing the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s visions by connecting state, federal, business, and community leadership.

Connecting at events

How is this event different?

We know events alone will not change the world. But the people and conversations at them can. We need a little less conversation and a lot more action at events like this.

We’ve seen a huge demand from our business, policy and NGO networks for an open and honest platform that pushes progress and implementation.

So we’ve designed an agenda that puts participation at the center of the program by creating an open space for off the record conversations, carefully curated small-group conversations, and a series of closed-door implementation sessions that deliver real outcomes.

Networking

Why are we hosting this event?

In 2020, President Biden invited Climate Group to support the Leaders’ Summit on Climate. We helped curate and organize a series of events to showcase US climate action. Building on this success, the US Climate Action Summit evolved, and is now established as a vital moment to connect climate leaders on key policy and climate issues during Earth Week in Washington DC.

We must maximize the historic climate investments promised through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). This investment won’t solve climate change, but it can set a new course for US climate leadership at all levels. The green economy can become the only economy with State and business leadership acting as a critical lever.
