Business and government affirm climate commitments on World Environment Day

Over 20 major companies have pledged ambitious climate action on World Environment Day today. As leaders from around the world discuss how to organise a green economic recovery after the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic is over, these businesses are leading the charge by signing up to international non-profit The Climate Group’s corporate leadership initiatives on renewables (RE100), electric vehicles (EV100) and smart energy use (EP100). Together, these initiatives aim to drive carbon reductions at scale in the shortest time possible.

Incorporating Openreach, the digital network business, BT Group operates the second largest corporate vehicle fleet in the UK.

New dates announced for COP26

Thursday 28 May, London – The UK government has today confirmed that the UN climate change conference, COP26, will be held in November 2021 in Glasgow, having initially been due to take place in November 2020.
