December 21, 2020 – Today, governors from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Mayor of Washington D.C. formally sign on to the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cut emissions and build a greener future. Eight Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast states also issued a statement stating their continued involvement in developing TCI while also pursuing state specific initiatives.

Amy Davidsen, Executive Director at the Climate Group, said: "Tackling transportation emissions is crucial in addressing the climate crisis and getting to a net-zero future. The private sector and states continue to send signals that they want clean vehicles to be the new normal through initiatives such as EV100 and the Under2 Coalition; and additional state policies can move us faster. We applaud these governors who are taking the next step to make clean transportation a reality by signing on to TCI.”

The Climate Group and its business action members across RE100, EV100, and EP100 have proudly supported the adoption of TCI.
