Climate Group has launched the RE100 India policy asks which serve as a call for building a policy and regulatory environment towards 100% corporate sourcing of renewable power in India.

These asks bring together the voices of 70+ businesses operating in India (committed to procuring 100% renewable electricity to power their operations) on what it will take to build an enabling and inclusive environment for adopting a robust RE policy in the country.

The launch of these asks has kicked off a series of policy advocacy engagements – with different government bodies at the centre and state level and with key stakeholders in the electricity generation and distribution value chain.

Businesses in India are already rising to the climate challenge, with more than 70 companies with headquarters and/or operations in the country voluntarily pledging to RE100 – a global initiative that brings together hundreds of large and ambitious businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity. In doing so, these businesses are looking to procure renewable power at scale and seek to enable policies and regulations to meet their RE100 targets and support the government with achieving its climate goals.
